Kings Get 1st Franchise Victory Against the Bums


Nothing came easy for Lakeside Beach Bums on Sunday, as they fell 12-4 to Wisconsin Cheese Kings


Lakeside Beach Bums got things started in the first inning. Dylan Carrington grounded out, scoring one run.


Wisconsin Cheese Kings evened things up at one in the top of the third inning when Jumpei Ohashi singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.


Wisconsin Cheese Kings pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning.


Lakeside Beach Bums tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Cameron Schaaf and Tyler Weiner all drove in runs in the frame.


Wisconsin Cheese Kings scored six runs in the ninth inning. The big inning for Wisconsin Cheese Kings came thanks to singles by Andrew Rajkovich and Connor Doughty, a walk by Brayden Hazelwood, a sacrifice fly by Alex Fernandez, and an error on a ball put in play by Ohashi.


Vince Zipperer pitched Wisconsin Cheese Kings to victory. The lefthander surrendered four runs on three hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Jacob Kren, Tyler Schmitt, and Nate Bacskai all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.


Brendan Meyers took the loss for Lakeside Beach Bums. The lefthander lasted four innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out three.


Peyton Becker went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Lakeside Beach Bums in hits.


Wisconsin Cheese Kings collected eight hits on the day. Doughty and Ohashi each racked up multiple hits for Wisconsin Cheese Kings. Wisconsin Cheese Kings stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Ohashi led the way with two.
